4 Fashion Bloggers Share What They’d Wear To Fashion Week

If you think packing your bag for a weekend getaway is hard, imagine trying to pack your bag for New York Fashion Week. Starting in just over a week, the countdown is officially here, giving us less and less time to figure out how to be ourselves while making a statement in a sea of people trying to do the exact same thing. Sound daunting? It is. While I study my own closet, check out what some of our fashion blogger friends would take when faced with fashion week…and don’t forget to check out their blogs!

Madeline of Jean Greige

Like most events for which the impossibly hip congregate en masse, Fashion Week exudes the pressure, nay expectation,  to be impeccably yet effortlessly dressed. I think the key is balance. I’d pair a decadently-embellished top (beaded or heavily embroidered) with a pair of rolled, perfectly destroyed vintage Levi’s 501s and low-heeled black chelsea boots (perfect for trucking around from show to show). The destroyed jeans in an unexpected cut lend the perfect element of relaxed cool to the look, making it seem as though Fashion Week should be intimidated by you rather than vice versa. A statement jacket reminds everyone that you still play the game, and feminine makeup with loosely waved locks makes the look chic rather than sloppy.

Krystal of This Time Tomorrow

The tough part about dressing for the fall collections in February is that despite the freezing temps, most attendees are starting to sport the spring trends we saw last September. Personally, I have my eye on all things tonal and print on print — much like this look from Celine’s 2012 Resort collection. Give me an entire ensemble of the same matching floral print (with a heavy wool coat to throw over my shoulders!) and I’d be ready to head to Lincoln Center.

Rachel of Jaglever

I’ve been really obsessed with Acne lately. I just love the simplicity, edginess and quality. I’m a sucker for Swedish fashion. There’s a dress called “uniform” that they made and it’s basically a sheer black short dress with buttons down the spine. It’s simple, dainty with detail, gorgeous, and edgy all at the same time. I would definitely style it up with some silver accessories, perhaps a geometric necklace and lots of silver rings. I would wear it with my Acne pixel boots. I’d probably top it off with a black hat. I really hope to go to fashion week someday soon!

Bethany of Snakes Nest

For this fashion week I’ll probably be layering like crazy. I’m trying to get my hands on some leather pants and a warm enough coat to throw on over all my outfits. I don’t do well in cold weather. I’m packing a couple dresses and tights and my favorite floppy fedora.
