January 5th, 2018 by Melanie Sutrathada How to Layer Like a Pro This Year

The great thing about layering is it gives you the chance to be creative with your wardrobe. Whether you’re mixing different textures, playing with different lengths, or just throwing together your favorite button-downs, there are always more options when you layer. If you need any more convincing, check out some more examples of how to layer as inspired by our favorite bloggers!

Bring back your favorite summer dress by layering it over a turtleneck or a white t-shirt.

Tired of the same boring sweater and pant combination? Shake up your usual combination and opt for a skirt instead.

When it comes to layering for extra warmth, you can never go wrong with a teddy bear coat over a chunky knit sweater.

One more great thing about layering: you can pull off pieces that might be considered bold for the season (hello silk dresses and strapless tops!). This top might not be so practical on its own during the winter, but it’s definitely cold weather-appropriate with a turtleneck and coat!

If you’re wearing two long-sleeved button-ups, wear the thinner or longer piece underneath and have it peek out from the outermost layer.

Keep it chic and casual by pairing your favorite hoodie and coat together.

December 13th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada 6 Ways to Wear Sequins this Holiday Season

Sequins always make a comeback around the holiday season. Whether you wear them all-over for maximum drama or you prefer them understated, there are ways to wear sequins for every personal style.

Scroll on to get fancy with sequins!

sequins
Nobody does this trend better than the leading lady of Bows and Sequins. We’re loving how her sequined jacket gives her outfit that extra bit of flair.

If wearing an outfit decked out in sequins isn’t really your style, no biggie. Opt for a graphic tee with a sequined design and you’re good to go!

An all-over sequin dress makes for a show-stopping look that’s perfect for a New Year’s Eve celebration or the annual office party.

Tell me that a sequin top can’t be the life of the party, and I’ll show you otherwise!

Want to go in a more casual direction? Style a sequin top with a pair of boyfriend jeans.

Stick to wearing a solid color as your foundational layer, and pull on a gold sequin skirt for understated glamour.

December 4th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada 6 Outfits to Wear to the Airport

Nobody does travel style better than fashion bloggers. Much of traveling by air is spent sitting in a cramped space, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be comfy and stylish when you arrive to your destination. Whether you’re planning to fly home for the holidays or you have plans to explore a new city, try one of these tried-and-true blogger-approved airport outfits.

Jazz up your usual flight outfit by swapping out a simple pair of blue jeans for white athleisure pants instead.

Master the art of casual chic by combining a light cardigan with your favorite pair of blue jeans. If you’re wanting more of an “I woke up like this” look (because who doesn’t?), opt for pulling your hair back into a messy bun for your journey through the air.

Planning on taking a 12+hour flight? Wear this easy outfit that won’t leave you feeling constrained. You can never go wrong with an oversized coat over black leggings.

Travel with a neutral-colored statement coat that will look great combined with any outfit in your closet.

Rule number one for flight attire: layer up! That extra jacket can be used as a makeshift pillow or a light blanket when the airplane temps are running on the colder side.

Now, tell me this outfit isn’t easy to recreate for your next flight! All you need is a loose t-shirt, ripped jeans and some mules and voila—you’re good to go.

November 10th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada How to Mix Masculine and Feminine Style

If you’re going for an aesthetic that combines both masculine and feminine style, you’ve come to the right place! We’ve put together a collection of outfits that mix the best of both worlds. Our favorite part? You probably have a lot of these pieces already in your closet!

feminine style

Finally, a reason to bring back that army coat you have tucked away in the back of your closet. Dress up the piece by styling it over a top and skirt combo, and you’re good to go!

While an oversized hoodie might not be a fashion statement on its own, there’s no reason it can’t serve as the focal point with another jacket layered over it. Balance this masculine outfit with over-the-knee boots and a baker boy hat!

A nice set of earrings and a light pastel sweater are the only ladylike touches you’ll need to upgrade your everyday work slacks.

Curate the perfect masculine and feminine outfit combination by playing around with layers and details.

Start from the bottom and work your way up. Style a pair of grungy combat boots with a more feminine piece like a teddy bear jacket.

Steal a page from Justin Timberlake’s style book, and get your “suit and tie” on. Just add a bright red lip color, a neutral clutch and a simple pair of heels like Annabelle Fleur did here.

October 25th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada 6 Ways to Wear a Baker Boy Hat This Fall

There’s always that one item we see blogger gals rocking during fashion week that we just can’t wait to get our hands on. This fall, it’s the baker boy hat, also known as the newsboy or pageboy.

So, how exactly should you style one? Scroll on to see some of our favorite ways to rock the baker boy hat:

No one can deny how cute this brown hat is. Style it with a neutral color scheme to make this outfit look cohesive.

Recreate this look by styling a vibrant dress with over-the-knee boots and topping off your outfit with a baker boy hat!

This colorful, patterned co-ord set combined with a baker hat reminds us of our favorite Clueless gal pal, Cher Horowitz. What’s not to love?

The best feature of this hat? Worn with a simple ponytail, it can easily disguise messy hair days. Throw on a matching suit and loafer mules to transition this polished style to the streets.

These hats don’t have to be paired with an over-the-top outfit to look stylish. Keep it simple and chic and pair one with a t-shirt and jeans.

Skip the dad hats and opt for a baker boy hat to elevate your style this fall.
