June 13th, 2017 by Jennifer Beile Round Up: Women’s Suit Sets for Summer

If you had told me years ago that I would be pining to find the perfect matching suit set, I would have thought you were crazy. I lean towards a very relaxed, casual style, and suits traditionally don’t fit into that—a stiff suit is meant for professionals with a strict office dress code, right? Not anymore. A perfectly tailored suit set is perfect for winter and an unexpected outfit choice for holiday parties. For summer, I am loving a relaxed-fit suit in playful proportions, styled more casually with sneakers and graphic tees. I’ve rounded up my favorite ways to style suit sets for summer below!

Shorts & Skirts

Matching suit sets that consist of skirts or shorts will instantly create a more casual look, and they’re perfect to wear during the heat of the summer.

Play with Proportions

Courtney of Always Judging has two classic examples of how to play with proportions while styling a suit. The oversized blazer offsets the bottoms and creates a relaxed look that can be worn for many occasions.

Pair Your Suit with Sneakers

Sneakers and flats are the “it” shoes of the season—possibly of the year—and add an instant chicness to any dressed-down look.

May 15th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada Six Sheer Outfits to Try this Summer

The beauty of sheer pieces can instantly elevate a casual and minimalist outfit. They’re the perfect way to show a little skin or accentuate certain parts of your body. However, it’s not always intuitive knowing where you should begin when styling sheer pieces.

With the help of some of our favorite fashion bloggers, you’ll be slaying in sheer outfits in no time! Here are some of our favorite tips and tricks:

sheer outfits

A full-length sheer number over a little black dress has everything you need to feel festival-ready this summer.

P2 - Dallas Style Blog

If you’re leaning towards a more daring style and want to show some skin, slip on a sheer piece over a black bra, blue jeans, and heels. Add extra style points by choosing a piece with embroidered prints.

P3 - Here's the Skinny

A blouse with sheer sleeves is an easier way to pull off the trend this summer without showing too much skin.

P4 - Lace and Locks

Style a midi skirt with sheer insets for the perfect brunch outfit.

P5 - Song of Style

One of our favorite ways to wear sheer is by mixing pieces that that have different textures and designs. Aimee Song of Song of Style wears a top with teal lace and sheer dotted sleeves combined with a nude and black bodycon skirt.

When June gloom is in full swing, style a sheer button-up underneath denim overalls for an ultra chic look.

July 8th, 2016 by Samantha Weaver New In: Bohemian Dresses and Matching Sets

We’re big fans of easy dressing at Crossroads, which is why we can’t seem to keep ourselves from shopping this summer’s hottest trend: boho chic. Incorporating the bohemian trend into your wardrobe is super simple—in fact, it can be accomplished with just one trip to your nearest Crossroads store this week!

Here are some guidelines to choosing boho pieces that are updated and chic.

1. Keep the silhouette simple

Reach for maxi dresses and skirts because they elongate your figure.

2. Don’t mix prints

When sporting bold prints, go for either an all-over print or a matching set.

3. Be selective with your accessories

Some would say the more the merrier, but we’re recommending that you highlight one piece and keep the rest of your accessories minimal. Whether you want to feature a nice leather bag or a statement necklace, keep the accessory count to 1-3 pieces, or you’ll find yourself in a festival style nightmare.

Tiered Floral Midi Skirt ($35)
