Crossroads' "Best Of" Awards for 2006 are rolling in. We are so pleased that our loyal customers vote for us every year and keep us on top of the Readers' Polls. We couldn't do it without you. Thank you!

Oakland Magazine
Best Recycled Clothing
"The saying goes: One man's trash is another man's treasure. And there are treasures galore to be had at Crossroads, Oakland's premiere location to "buy, sell and trade" clothing. For the past 15 years, Crossroads has helped college students, spendthrifts and broke fashionistas stay couture clad. Haven't touched an item in your closet for months? Bring it in and trade up. Searching for the perfect pair of jeans on a budget? Try your luck at the Crossroads racks, with labels like Earl Jeans, BCBG and Diesel in stock, you just might find what you're yearning for. Remember, the only thing better than finding a to-die-for dress is finding that hot little number 50 percent off."

Readers' Poll Winner:
Best Recycled Fashion
Why They Won: “Shopping for recycled threads can be hit or miss, but the fashion-savvy folks at Crossroads have made it a worthwhile experience. Their third-time winning strategy: Fill the racks with clothes in superb shape (read: clean and without stains, holes, odors, missing buttons or broken zippers) and in vogue (think Seven jeans, Diesel, BCBG, Bebe, Marc Jacobs, L.A.M.B). Plus, the inventory’s updated daily, so there are always new picks. Shop on – the planet and your wallet will thank you!”

Citysearch - San Francisco
3rd Place - Best Discount Clothing
"Whether you work 9 to 5 or party all night, you'll find clothes for any occasion at this thrift superstore. Contemporary and trendy, the clothes are always in perfect condition and reasonably priced. Though most of the goods are bought from the public, this place gets about 20 percent of its merchandise from wholesalers. So, unlike other thrift stores, it offers some products in a variety of sizes. The staff's pickiness is a virtue to the shopper, but if you came here to sell your beat-up plaid pants, you'll be disappointed with the price you're offered." --Valerie Schneider | |
