It seems all too appropriate to feature model Daphne Groeneveld on our blog the day before New York Fashion Week. The 17-year-old Dutch model seemed to come out of nowhere and exploded onto the fashion scene. Well, not exactly nowhere. Scouted by an agent in a mall while shopping with her mother, Daphne walked her first runway season in Fall/Winter 2010 in Milan and her career took off the next year. She isn’t your average beauty, and we love that – her pouty lips, large eyes and youthful spirit have modeled alongside veterans such as Karen Elson, Naomi Campbell, and Kristen McMenamy. Best known for appearing alongside Tom Ford on the cover of Vogue Paris for December/January 2010, we’re excited to see more of this unconventional beauty for the next seven days.
