March 26, 2023 The Best Place to Sell Clothes

The best place to sell clothes is the place with the most options and the most convenience. This is exactly where Crossroads comes in.

With 4 ways to sell, you have choices! And the payout structure is simple: get 30% in cash or 50% in trade value of whatever Crossroads prices your clothing for.

1. In-Store

Crossroads has store locations across the U.S. where well-trained fashion buyers buy in clothes from the public all day, every day. No appointment is necessary, and you can even use the Crossroads waitlist app to add your name to the store waitlist while you’re headed there.

2. Drop-Off

Some Crossroads stores offer a drop-off option, where you leave your clothes with a buyer and return 24-48 hours later to receive your payout. Find your nearest store location to see if it’s offered in your area.

3. Consignment

Are you looking to sell higher-end labels or designer items? Crossroads offers consignment for these types of pieces. You’ll have to wait for the item to sell to get your payout, but the wait means a higher cash payout rate (50-70%!).

4. Sell by Mail

If you aren’t near a Crossroads store, or just don’t have time to visit one, then Sell by Mail is the option for you. Order a free shipping bag, fill it up, and send it back with its pre-paid shipping label. You can even choose to donate any unpurchased items, or have them returned for a fee. Talk about flexibility.

With a doubt, this is why Crossroads is the best place to sell clothes!

March 21, 2024 The Return of Lowrise Pants

Lowrise pants have returned, along with their raving fans and disappointed critics. Some love the daring but relaxed look, while others rank them as their least-favorite denim fit. The debate spans decades.

For fans like us, there is no better pairing for lowrise pants than easy pieces like a tank top or cropped top.  Shoe choices are easy too, running the wide range from flip-flops to low profile sneakers to chunky platforms.

Add a sleek bun, movie star sunglasses, and a great handbag, and you will have a complete undercover celebrity look.

Keep scrolling to see outfits with lowrise pants that caught our attention. Notice that they come in many styles: denim, wide-leg trousers, and cargo pants to name a few.

March 19, 2023 3 Tips to Shop Used Clothes Like a Pro

When you shop used clothes like a pro, you walk out of stores with the best secondhand gems for your closet.

And with enough practice, you can walk confidently into a fashion resale store like Crossroads and quickly find exactly what you’re looking for. We even have 3 tips that will take you to pro status!

1. Have a Plan

Before you shop for any clothes, take a look at what you currently have in your closet. Look for outfit gaps that you want to fill, like a black leather jacket, metallic sandals, or a dress for upcoming summer weddings.

Make a note on your phone of what you’re looking for so you’ll have it handy when you stumble upon a used clothing store. It will keep you focused as you shop.

(BTW – If you find pieces you no longer love while checking your closet, pull them off the hanger or out of the drawer. Consider bringing them to Crossroads to sell for cash or store credit).

2. Check Behind the Register

Secondhand clothing stores typically keep their most coveted pieces at the register, either in cases or on shelves behind the register. This is where we know we can find some of the best pieces in the store, often designer or vintage.

3. Skim for High-Quality Fabrics

With racks and racks of clothes in front of you, it can feel a little overwhelming. We like to skim for high-quality fabrics like silk and wool. These are the pieces we know will stand the test of time in our closets and will uplevel our closet for the seasons ahead.

Give it a try! Shop used clothes with us and you’ll always find something that’s “new to you.” Don’t forget you can also sell your pre-loved clothes to us for cash or store credit.
