This past Fashion Week season we saw so many styles strut down the runway, but four looks we think will stand out this fall are monotone menswear chic, downtown hip, California casual and black with prints.
Monotone Menswear Chic
The first look that we are loving for fall is monotone menswear chic. We’ve all seen the monotone look done before, but by adding a menswear twist, it goes to the next level. Take this white neutral look I put Marion for example. By starting with a simple white H&M button up and Calvin Klein nude trouser pant, I have given it a menswear inspired look. The chic side comes into play when I added this Zara faux-fur vest, Tory Burch white clutch and floppy cream colored hat from H&M. This look is perfect for work, lunch with the girls, or strolling around the city with your best friends.
H&M hat: $10.50
Linda Farlow white sunnies: $42.50
H&M white button up, size medium: $9.50
Calvin Klein trousers, size 04: $32.50
Tory Burch clutch: $55.00
Kensie strap heels, size 6: $ 22.50
The same monotone menswear chic looks also applies for the second look I styled Marion in. This dark navy dress from Zara and the adorable blue strappy sandals from Reid Krakoff keep this look feminine, even when I add a menswear spin with the royal blue blazer.
Zara dress, size medium: $20.00
Zara blazer, size small: $18.50
Reid Krakoff heels, size 6: $120
Downtown hip is a trend for a girl who likes dressing up but adds a downtown flair to every look. This may include ripped boyfriend jeans, snap-back hats, sneakers with dresses and boyfriend tees. She’s a girl who likes to go out with the girls, but can also kick it with the boys.
Only New York snap-back hat: $ 9.50
Tahari black blazer, size 02: $42.50
Haute Hippie sequin dress, size 02: $35.00
Frye black boots, size 7: $125.00
You know that girl whose style is comfortable and causal without trying too hard? She usually falls under a favorite fall look of ours: California casual. Think loose dresses with long knit cardigans and stylish loafers, a look that makes running errands or grabbing coffee easy, comfortable and cute.
Sweater: Costa Blanca, M, $32.50
Necklace: Armani Exchange, $16.50
Dress: Myne, S, $28.50
Shoes: Boutique 9, size 8, $22.50
Black on Black (with just a dash of prints!)
Of course we’ve all seen black on black done before, but when you add in a splash of different patterns, it starts to get interesting. Case in point: a black & white print sweater over a black and white polka dot top from H&M.
Hat: H&M, $12.50
Sweater: Rag & Bone, S, $32.50
Polka dot top: H&M, size m, $12.50
Pants: American Apparel black hammer pants, size m, $15.00
Shoes: Aldo black boots, size 10, $37.50
