March 27th, 2018 by Jennifer Beile 5 Crossroads Selling Tips for Spring!

It’s finally spring (even if some of us are still covered in snow) and you know what that means… It’s time for spring cleaning! My favorite spring cleaning motivation is knowing I can get cash or trade when I bring my gently used clothing to Crossroads. If you’ve never sold your clothes before, or if you’d just like a refresher, here are my 5 Crossroads selling tips for spring.

1.
Know your local Crossroads.

Take the time to browse your local store before you haul in your clothes to sell. You’ll get a better idea of what type of clothing they’re looking to buy, and it may save you the trouble of bringing in too many items.

2. Check the selling guide.

What better way to know what Crossroads is looking for than by going to the source itself? Their online selling guide will tell you what styles and trends they are currently looking for each season.

3. Condition is key!

Only bring in gently used, clean, in-season, and on-trend clothing. If an item needs mending, has stains, or is out of season (e.g. a coat in summer), it’s less likely to be sold.

4. It’s all in the details.

Take some extra time and make sure your clothes are washed, wrinkle-free, and folded nicely when brought into Crossroads. Even if a garment is relatively new, if it’s unwashed and shoved tightly into a ball in a bag, it will look more worn and is more likely to be passed on.

5. Don’t give up.

If you don’t succeed in selling all your clothes, ask your Crossroads buyer why they passed on certain items. It may just be that they already have plenty of that particular style or trend in stock. Then, you’ll know whether it’s worth a shot to take it to a different location to try to sell.
