July 31st by Melanie Sutrathada Round-up: Handbag Styles Perfect for Work

There’s no better way to make a fashion statement at work than with a bag that does all the talking. Whether you need something that’s big enough to fit a laptop or versatile enough to take you to happy hour, there’s a style that will fit all of your office needs.

Here are our favorite handbags for work to inspire your next purchase:

bag

The great thing about a dome satchel handbag is that it looks great in any size, whether it’s a mini bag or a large one. Stick to a neutral color like black, brown or grey for a classic and timeless feel.

P2 - Extra Petite

Tote bags carry a lot without losing their structure. You can easily throw in a cardigan for when the office gets chilly or a spare change of clothes for hitting the gym.

P3 - Hapa Time

Can a Little Black Bag officially become a thing already? Every fashionista should have a simple black bag readily available. Not only is it professional enough for work, it can transition easily from 9-5 to happy hour with coworkers afterwards.

P4 - Media Marmalade

A versatile bag that can double as a backpack or shoulder bag is a match made in heaven.

P5 - Memorandum

Nobody does trendy and functional bags as well as brands like Dagne Dover. Their bags are known for helping you stay organized with features like a pocket for your laptop, a place for your metro card, and a ring for your keys.

P6 - Viva Luxury

Remember when you were little and how easy packing for school was with a backpack? Well, if you haven’t hopped on the upgraded backpack trend yet, you’re surely missing out.

July 26th, 2017 by Jennifer Beile 5 Stylish Mom Bloggers to Follow

As a new mom, I have a new appreciation for those who can seemingly do it all; it’s definitely not as easy as they make it look!

When I first started following style bloggers, the majority were close to my age and typically single and without children. More and more in the last few years, my favorite bloggers have been reaching the same kinds of milestones in their lives as I have in mine. So many style bloggers share more of their life experiences and advice than when they first begin. In my sphere, that includes children in the mix!

I want to share 5 stylish mom bloggers that I follow. They’re an inspiration to me, in proving that you don’t have to be defined only by motherhood or a career. These women are multi-dimensional, stylish, and give us an honest peek into their busy lives.

July 24th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada 6 Outerwear Pieces to Elevate Your Summer Fashion

Lightweight outerwear pieces can elevate just about any outfit, making them the perfect wardrobe addition all summer long. Up your fashion game this season with just a few simple outfit changes:

outerwear

Replicate this outfit for date night: wear a bright and bold statement jacket over a black dress or jumpsuit.

P2 - Gal Meets Glam

A light cardigan is always a great choice for keeping an outfit feminine, flirty and work-appropriate in the summer. Slip the cardigan into your bag before you head out and you’ll be good to go!

P3 - Happily Ever Allen

An oversized denim jacket is the perfect way to top off a casual outfit. Just layer one over a graphic tee, your favorite blouse, or even a sundress for instant style points.

P6 - What Olivia Did

Toughen up your look by tossing on an olive green army jacket.

P4 - Soraya Bakhtiar

Trying to achieve ultimate fashionista vibes this summer? Worn over a pair of blue jeans, as done here, a long kimono cover-up creates a sophisticated and sexy look that isn’t too over-the-top for brunch.

P5 - The Boho Flow

A lightweight trench coat will keep you looking effortlessly chic. Create contrast in your outfit by picking a trench coat that is slightly longer than your dress or shorts.

July 18th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada 6 Outfits to Wear at the Beach

As the temperatures start to rise, it’s only natural to hit the beach for some vitamin D and relaxation. Whether you plan on reading by the water or going for a bike ride along the boardwalk, here are a few trendy cover-up options you can wear for any beach occasion.

Any of these outfits is summer-approved and fail-proof for the beach:

Transition from beach day to bonfire with a lightweight sweater. A sweater worn over swimsuit bottoms—as done here—is the perfect look for cozying up next to a bonfire.

A pair of high-waisted shorts is a closet staple for summer. Want to show off your new bathing suit top? Switch out the usual crop top piece for a tankini or bralette bathing suit top.

P3 - Little Blonde Book

Without a doubt, a pretty patterned dress is always a go-to option for the beach. They’re easy to take on and off if you need to tan or jump into the water (I’m always tempted to do the latter!).

Nail perfect beach style by throwing on a romper over your bathing suit. The one-piece won’t take up much room in your bag, making it perfect for when you’re on-the-go.

P5 - The Dandy Liar

A two-piece separate outfit has everything you need to feel beach-time ready. Top off your outfit with a round handle or straw bag that can hold all of your beach essentials.

P6 - The Viva Luxury

Take a style cue from Annabelle Fleur and wear a dress with a plunging neckline to show off a peek of your bathing suit without going overboard.

July 14th, 2017 by Samantha Weaver DIY Pom Pom Trim: For Jewelry, Clothes, Accessories & More

BIG NEWS! The Crossroads DIY Studio is back in action!

We’ve spent most of the summer obsessed with everything and anything pom pom.  Clothing, accessories, bathing suits—you name it. If it was dripping with multi-colored pom poms, we said “take my money!” Then it dawned on us that pom pom trim accessorizing would be the perfect DIY!

What you will need:

1. Pom Pom Trim

2. Assorted sizes and colors of poms

3. Scissors

4. A ruler

5. Fabric adhesive or a glue gun

You will also need plain accessories and clothing to adorn with pom poms! Today, we’ll be adding pom poms to a pair of gold hoops, a sun hat, some red slides, jeans, a black crop top, and a bonus item!

Pom Pom Hoop Earrings

I’ve seen hoops with pom poms available for $29+, but with this simple DIY you can accomplish the look for less than $10!

You’ll need to use hoop earrings that have threaded closures, not hooks. Pick your desired color of pom pom and start threading them directly onto the earring! It’s that easy. Add one pom or five, then space as desired—either way you’ll end up with a festive pair of hoop earrings!

Sun Hat with Pom Pom Trim

Add some flare to your boring sun hat with a pom pom trim! Simply use a binder clip to hold the trim in place, then wrap the trim around the brim of your hat and glue it down as you go. Secure with another clip at the end, and cut off the excess trim. Wait 2-4 hours to dry and voila! Beach-approved headwear.

Slides with Large Pom Detail

They’re bold, they’re bright, they’re downright gaudy, and we love them.

Plug in your glue gun and grab your largest poms! Simply decide where you want to place your poms first, then just start gluing! Dry for an hour minimum.

Crop Top with Pom Pom Trim

To accomplish the perfect pom pom trim on a t-shirt or crop top, just begin as we did with the sun hat by clipping down the edge of your trim to the seam of your top. Then just glue and wrap around the hem of your top, and clip off any excess! Let adhesive glue dry for 2-4 hours.

Jeans with Pom Pom Trim

Last year, we did a DIY on frayed hem jeans, but this year we’re going full pom pom! Clip, wrap, and glue, and you’ll end up with a pair of sassy-bottomed jeans for summer! I’ve seen jeans with pom pom trim retail at $100+, but we made these for just $2.50 using jeans we already owned.

That’s a wrap! What did you think of this super easy DIY?

BONUS! Headband with Pom Pom Detail:

The options are endless with a bag of poms poms and some glue, so don’t pay for pom pom trim—do it yourself!
