Blog: Crossroads Style

March 11th, 2016 by Samantha Weaver Coming Soon: Red Accessories

There’s really no better accessory than a bright red lip. But where else can we add a pop of red to our fashion routine this season? We’ve just stocked up on our favorite hue, and we’re running through the best ways to wear red accessories—from bags to jewelry to makeup!

A red bag is an easy way to add some color to any look. Red Duffle Backpack ($27.50).

We’re also seeing jewelry with red stones and beads for summer. Coming soon: Silver and Red Multi-strand Necklace and Beaded Gold Bar Necklace.

Bright red is even popping up in the beauty world. Love this use of red eyeliner!

Try a classic red bandana with a twist! Our Bandana Headband ($9.50) is pre-knotted so it’s ready to wear—just pull it on and adjust the wire-ends!

A red shoe is always a good thing.

I’m also pretty obsessed with our Coral Paper Hat ($20). It’s an update to your classic summer hat but with an added pop of color! And the brim is lined with wire so you can form it to any silhouette you please.

All items will be available at Crossroads this coming week.

We’re so excited about our selling guide that we’ve created looks to showcase our favorite spring trends using this week’s new arrivals.

’70s InspiredThis spring, look for ’70s inspiration in a printed jumpsuit like our Abstract Print Culottes Jumpsuit ($35). Add a beaded belt and, of course, a fedora ($35).

Stripes + Tote Bags
Stripes will always be a major player in spring fashion. This season, try wearing stripes on stripes—and don’t forget your favorite tote bag!

 Polka Dots + Mini Bags!
Once you put on our Drawstring Polka Dot Dress ($38.50), you’ll be sold. Featuring an oversized fit and midi length, this super comfy dress is a must-have. Just add a bright mini-bag to finish the look.

Romantic + Mules
Our Romantic Lace Dress ($38.50) has been getting a lot of attention on our Instagram page this week, and it’s easy to see why. Finish the look with a pair of pastel mules.

Off the Shoulder + Athletic Shoes
Two of my favorite trends this season all in one! I’ve been gushing all week about the new pair of sneakers I picked up at our newest store in Boulder, CO, and I love how they pair with our Off the Shoulder Mini Dress ($17.50).

Shop these pieces in stores this coming week!

This October, we’re loading up on hats, vests, and bags perfect for the coming season. It may be 86 degrees outside my window now, but I’m crossing my fingers for that brisk fall weather to come and call in pieces like these.

An Embroidered Vest with Faux Shearling ($35) is the perfect accompaniment to any fall outfit. Pair it with a maxi dress or bell bottoms for that full-on bohemian flare.

AutumnGrab a Knit Fedora ($25) for some warmth. Ours is available in grey, navy, tan, and black.

AutumnJust in time for the autumnal color palette—our Double Tote in Camel ($25) is really two bags in one!

AutumnBonus: our Striped Dress with Faux Leather Sleeves (28.50) has it all; great coverage, fit, and price for the upcoming season.

I often think of Emily Dickinson with the change of season. Here is a favorite of mine entitled Autumn:

The morns are meeker than they were,

The nuts are getting brown;

The berry’s cheek is plumper,

The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,

The field a scarlet gown.

Lest I should be old-fashioned,

I’ll put a trinket on.

July 16, 2015 by Samantha Weaver Inspired by Blair Eadie: Stylish Tote Bags

Whether you carry a hobo, bucket or crossbody, there’s one thing trending in purses this year: they’re getting bigger! The largest of them, and by far our favorite this season, is the structured tote. And, when it comes to a classic tote we say bigger is better because everything from our gym clothes to our lunch has to fit in there!

For styling inspiration we’re turning to Atlantic-Pacific, the popular fashion blog of Blair Eadie, to search her style portfolio for looks that feature classic totes…enjoy!

Get Blair’s look with our Classic Vegan Tote in tan, $28.50 (Coming soon to stores).

Be bold by swapping out your classic tan version for one with a pop of color.

k1Black, white or anywhere in-between, a tote bag can dress an outfit up or down. You simply can’t go wrong with a great tote bag.Assorted leather totes, $25, available in select Crossroads locations.
