If you’re thinking there’s no way to add excitement to your wardrobe with a strict pantsuit dress code, think again! Whether you’re required to show up in one or not, there are plenty of ways to wear one in style. It’s time to add a dose of style to your workday; check out the looks below for new and modern ways to wear a pantsuit.

For a modern twist, a striped pantsuit with a white t-shirt and sneakers has everything you need to feel stylish. Choose a suit with vertical lines for the illusion of height.

Heading out with friends after work but want to ditch the corporate feel of a pantsuit? Achieve that casual yet put-together look by swapping your blouse out for a graphic t-shirt.

Commit to an all-white pant suit and pull your outfit together with a pair of brightly-hued heels. As with all head-to-toe white ensembles, make sure to check that your pantsuit isn’t see-through before you head out the door!

P4 - The Nomis Niche

Make a statement by embracing a pantsuit in a bold floral pattern. Elevate the look with white accents to recreate this ultimate cool-girl style.

 P5 - Sazan

Dress to impress with a pantsuit that been been fitted and tailored to your body. We love how a plaid print and slim fit adds edge to this still-professional pantsuit.

P6 - Viva Luxury

Those who believe the only way to achieve feminine style in the workplace is through dresses and skirts have clearly never seen Annabelle Fleur—of Viva Luxury—rock a black and white pantsuit. This black bowtie and cropped trousers combo is a breath of fresh air!

March 30th, 2017 by Jennifer Beile Nothing to Wear? 6 Tips to Get You Out of A Wardrobe Rut

We have a closet full of clothes, yet somehow, we all have days where we stand in front of those racks and say, “I have nothing to wear.” Suddenly, nothing looks good or goes together quite like how you remember, and of course, it always happens at the worst times, like when you actually need something to wear. Never on a weekend when you can get away with your favorite pair of jeans and a tee.

Luckily, solving this dilemma is as simple as preparing for it in advance. Check out my tips on how to plan for those ubiquitous nothing-to-wear mornings.

1. Use the Remix Rule When Shopping
I typically justify my clothing purchases with the remix rule: If you can think of three different outfits using the piece and clothing you already own, buy it. If not, leave it at the store and let yourself sleep on it. Chances are, you actually don’t need that new sweater. Focus on creating a closet with a wardrobe that works together, not against itself.

2. Stay Inspired
If you have a closet full of clothes, then of course you have something to wear. You may just need to get inspired to have some fun with the clothes that you have. This is where Instagram, Pinterest, and blogs come in. Take screenshots of outfits that you can recreate using similar items in your closet. When that dreaded “I have nothing to wear” morning comes, you’ll be prepared with more than enough ideas.

3. Go For Black on Black
Black is a fashion girl’s best friend. It never fails, it matches everything, and you may already have at least one of every type of item in black. If not, look for classic pieces in black for those no-fail outfits: a button-down, a high-waisted skirt, trousers, a dress, and denim. You can pump up your look by adding statement accessories or shoes, or just keep it minimal and chic.

4. Stock up on Classic Pieces
Stick to classics on those mornings you want to look good with the least amount of effort. Stock your closet with timeless pieces like a white button-down shirt, black trousers, a pair of flattering jeans, an easy throw-on dress, and a layering piece that goes with everything (like a leather or denim jacket). Trendy, statement pieces are fun, but if your closet is missing classic, key pieces to tie everything together, it will make it a lot harder to get dressed.

5. Plan Ahead
When I have the time, I like to go into my closet, create outfits for future scheduled events, and take photos of them. This makes getting dressed on the day-of a complete breeze! It also allows more time to play with different combinations I may not have thought of while stressing about being ready on time. Planning an outfit ahead of time takes the stress out of getting ready and let’s you focus on what really matters that day.

6. Purge and Organize Your Closet Regularly
Take time to go through your closet each season and ask yourself if you really need each item. Have you worn it in the last 6-12 months? Does it fit? Does it still work with your current style? If not, pack it up and head to your nearest Crossroads to sell it, or donate it to your local secondhand store. Too much of a good thing can actually make it harder to make a decision! Pare your wardrobe down to pieces you love and actually wear, and get rid of the rest.

March 8th, 2017 by Melanie Sutrathada How to Colorblock Your Outfits

Kick off the spring season by committing to adding more color to your outfits! Colorblocking is quintessential spring—bright, cheerful, and fun. For some tips on how to colorblock your outfits, take a look at how these fashionistas did it:

colorblock

Colorblocking doesn’t have to be a complicated ordeal. When in doubt, stick with neutral colors like black, white, and shades of brown.

P2 - Fash Boulevard

One of the easiest ways to wear the colorblock trend is to pair complementary colors together. These are colors opposite each other on the color wheel, so try purple with yellow, blue with orange, and red with green.

P3 - Lovely-Pepa

Integrate colorblocked pieces into a corporate or low-key setting by styling darker colors with black or white pieces. This black, blue and gray colorblocked sweater looks sleek and professional when paired with black culottes for work.

P4 - Song of Style

Pick up a dual-toned coat that’s minimalistic, clean and practical. Perfect outerwear that’s easy to wear yet makes a statement!

P5 - Sterling Style

Experimenting with colorblocking gives you more outfit choices to choose from and create striking, bold combinations with that everyone will rave about! Take a fashion tip from CEO of The Glitter Guide and combine neon colors like magenta and orange.

P6 - Style is My Thing

The key to achieving Soraya De Carvalho’s colorblock style? Keep a loose color scheme of two to four colors, so the outfit still looks cohesive. To make the colors look even brighter, try offsetting them a bold white piece.
