This was the year that Selena seemed to blossom by taking risks and setting her own style standards.

December 27th, 2016 by Jennifer Beile 5 Alternatives to New Year’s Eve Dresses

The New Year is just a few days away, and while most have probably planned their party outfits,  some are still stressing (hand raised!). If you’re looking for an alternative to the not-so-original party dress, take a look at some of my favorite options below.

Jumpsuits
A jumpsuit is effortless but will still give you the fashionable entrance you’re looking for.

Pantsuits
A classic alternative. Look for fabrics like velvet and select bold colors to stand out in the crowd.

Statement Tops
Sometimes all you need is one statement piece to be the talk of the party! Look for fringe, big statement sleeves and fun fabrics.

blouse

Party Pants
Focus on your bottoms by finding sequin or metallic pants to dance the night away in!

Skirt
Keep it feminine and fun in a sequin skirt, a flowy midi or a dare-to-be-dramatic maxi skirt.

December 20th, 2016 by Jennifer Beile Round-Up: 5 Bloggers Turned Designers You Should Know

Longtime fashion bloggers know the industry, and some of them have been able to use their platform and experience to create their very own brands. Keep an eye out for these bloggers turned designers!

1. Rumi Neely, Fashion Toast

rumi

Rumi Neely, a fashion blogging veteran, launched her fashion line Are You Am I in 2014 after she was unable to find those perfect pieces we’ve all searched for: the draped white tee, the triangle bra that actually fits, and so on. Her line of sexy basics has expanded to include a full clothing line, jewelry and accessories. Are You Am I continues to offer up quality, seductive pieces that encompass Neely’s own personal style.

2. Elin Kling, The Wall

After founding the successful fashion blog The Wall, Elin expanded her career by creating Totême with her husband in 2014. A collection of everyday quality basics and mix-and-match pieces, Totême has been successfully growing within the fashion world. It’s been featured in prominent magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle and worn by some of Hollywood’s most glamorous women!

3. Chiara Ferragni, The Blonde Salad

Chiara has appeared on numerous red carpets and televisions shows and is one of the most recognizable international fashion bloggers. She was recently named one of Forbes’s ’30 Under 30′ in Art & Style, and she’s even become a study subject at Harvard Business School! Her Chiara Ferragni Collection is a fashion destination for flirty, playful shoes and accessories.

4. Danielle Bernstein, We Wore What

Danielle has been running her blog We Wore What for seven years, and it’s safe to say the move to expand her brand worked hugely in her favor. 2016 was a big year for Danielle: she launched her overall line Second Skin Overalls and her shoe line The Archive with Modern Vice founder Jordan Adoni. Danielle is just one of many bloggers with a long promising career in fashion!

5. Jess Hannah, J Hannah Journal

Jess founded J. Hannah Jewelry, a collection of pieces that are intended to be lived in and never taken off. Think delicate, timeless, minimal rings and necklaces that go with your entire wardrobe and lifestyle. Hannah is inspired by vintage pieces—like those handed down to her by her grandmother—and well-crafted jewelry that is meant to last a lifetime.

December 6th, 2016 by Jennifer Beile Blogger Inspired Looks for Every Holiday Party

The holiday season is in full swing and you’re probably getting party invites left and right: happy hours, gift exchanges, the annual work Christmas party, and more! Not all of these parties require a shopping trip and a brand new outfit; most likely, there’s a party outfit just waiting to be put together in your closet. Check out some of my favorite blogger-inspired looks to inspire your holiday party ensembles for the season.

Happy Hour

A happy hour invite will inevitably come up during the holiday season, and being prepared to go from work to drinks will help lessen stress when you get a last-minute invite. Trust your favorite blouse-and-trousers combo to take you from your office to a fun evening out.

Gift Exchange

A gift exchange party should be fun and casual. I love the idea of a blouse or sweater with an embellishment—like ruffles or bell sleeves—plus some dark denim and a pair of statement flats, like Christina’s outfit above. Add a dramatic lip and you’ll be ready for some holiday fun!

Dinner Out

holiday party

Dinner out is a wonderful excuse to dress up, no matter the time of year! Restaurants are festive, people are happy, and the wine is flowing. Liz of Late Afternoon recently wore this beautiful velvet, dark floral print dress, showing off two of this season’s biggest trends. Perfect for a dinner out to celebrate the holiday season!

Dinner Party

holiday party

If you’re attending or hosting a formal holiday dinner party, you’ll want to dress to impress but also be comfortable enough to last through the evening. Try something new, like a menswear-inspired suit. It’s the perfect way to stand out and impress your friends at your dinner party. Go with a navy or a deep green color, and throw on a faux fur coat like Mary from Memorandum.

Work Party

Your annual work party is a time to celebrate with your coworkers, but you’ll still want to keep an air of professionalism. Remember, you’ll have to go back to work on Monday! There is no such thing as being overdressed during the holiday season, so add some sparkle and glam to your outfit with metallic accessories and statement pieces.
