It’s boot season and whether or not you are in a climate that has already cooled to breezy fall temperatures or enjoying extended warm summer weather, it’s time to start investing in your boot collection for the turn of the season. While it may be a bit bittersweet to put your strappy sandals and open-toed mules in the back of your closet, making room for new boot staples will kickstart your fall wardrobe turn over and spark your creativity for the new season. Take a look at 5 boot styles to invest in this season to complete your cold weather footwear collection.
Mid, Knee, & Over-the-Knee Boots
Tall boots are a timeless fall staple that can help transition your dresses and skirts from summer to fall or add a chic element to a pair of skinny jeans.
Square-Toe, Chunky Heel Bootie
The newest boot silhouette on this season’s trend list is a modern square toe, chunky heeled ankle bootie which creates a comfortable and stylish way to pull your outfit together.
Pointed-Toe, Kitten Heel Bootie
On the opposite end of the spectrum detailed above, a chic pointed-toe, kitten heel bootie is the cold-weather version of a classic pump. This smart bootie pairs well with any style, from skinny to wide-leg silhouettes.
Lace-Up, Chunky Boot
Think Dr. Martens or combat boots, the lace-up chunky boot may just be the most practical trend this season. The all-weather, all-terrain footwear has received a sophisticated update and it will no longer look like a pair of construction boots, but an edgy addition to your fall look.
Classic Chelsea Booties
A classic Chelsea bootie is just that: classic. This style will never be out of style and is a fantastic starting to for refreshing your boot collection for the cold weather.
February 21st, 2018 by Jennifer Beile The New Boot Trend among Celebrities
Celebrities often set precedents for new street style trends and I always like to keep an eye out for something a little different than usual. Recently, I’ve been noticing my favorite stylish celebrities, like Gigi Hadid and Jennifer Aniston rocking combat style boots, like Dr. Martens. On the “heels” of all the ugly shoe trends we’ve had last year (pun intended, by the way), the chunky boot is just the newest style we are seeing dominate the fashion industry that is seemingly desperate to make ugly the new desirable. While not a style shoe I would typically wear myself, recognizing and following the ebbs and flows of trends, even those I may not particularly partake in, inspires me to try similar pieces or wear things a new way. Take a look at how to replicate the newest celebrity style trend below.
Contrast Feminine Pieces
Add some edgy to your spring floral pattern and dresses with the contrast of a pair of combat boots.
Pair With your Basics
Transform your basics with a pair of understated chunky boots for a simple update to your everyday uniform.
Wear Straight Fit Jeans
Trade your skinny jeans and heeled booties for a relaxed and comfortable straight fit jean with a pair of old school Dr. Marten boots.
Complete your Winter Look
Complete your winter outfit with a pair of chunky boots that will keep your feet dry and comfortable for all day wear and walking.
Pair with a Midi Skirt
Combine two of our favorite trends of the season by dressing down a leopard print silk midi skirt with a pair of edgy combat boots.
Add Edginess to your Blazer
Update your blazer and denim uniform with a pair of edgy chunky combat boots.
Utilize Printed Details
Combat boots can be feminine and playful with printed details.

January 16th, 2018 by Melanie Sutrathada 6 Ways to Style Over-the-Knee Boots
Between you and me, there’s nothing a pair of over-the-knee boots can’t do to jazz up an outfit. Not only are they versatile, you can use them as an extra layer for warmth during winter. Consider investing in a great pair (make sure to check out your local Crossroads!) for an easy, effortless way to make a casual outfit look more chic.
Any of these combinations are a fail-proof shortcut for pulling off over-the-knee boots.
An obvious fashion choice for over-the-knee boots is layering them over skinny jeans. Pair a chunky sweater with form-fitting denim for a sleek silhouette.
A sweater dress with over-the-knee boots is everything you need to channel your inner fashionista this winter.
Combine two trends by wearing a shearling coat with your boots.
Don’t want your over-the-knees boots to be the focal point of your outfit? Try adding a long cardigan or coat.
If you think that OTK boots should only be reserved for girls’ night out, think again. You can easily wear these types of boots with something more casual and comfy, like a cozy oversized sweater.
Style your over-the-knee boots with a high-waisted skirt and beret for the ultimate French-girl vibe.
