October 29th, 2018 by Melanie Sutrathada A Blogger’s Guide to Halloween
With Halloween right around the corner, it’s time to start prepping the ultimate costume if you haven’t already! The great part? A lot of these outfits can be re-created with what you already have in your closet! So, whether you’re staying at home watching Hocus Pocus with the gals or trying to win for “Best Costume,” there’s a Halloween costume for everyone.
Check out a few of our favorite blogger costumes for some inspiration:
How cute is Julia Engel as Belle from Beauty and the Beast? We’re loving the book props as well.
Animal ears and a dress isn’t exactly reinventing the wheel for Halloween, but we can’t get over how simple it is to recreate this costume!
Skip wearing a Halloween costume this year and opt for a Halloween tee instead!
How cute is this Little Red Riding Hood costume? The plus side? It’s a great way to reuse that picnic basket that you kept from summer!
Never underestimate the power of a shimmery mermaid to turn heads on Halloween.
Channel your inner Daisy Buchanan, and dress up as a flapper for the night! You already own a little black dress and a pearl necklace, now you just have to find a fur coat and a headpiece!

The blogging industry has evolved so much since the beginning days of posting outfit photos on WordPress or Blogger. Bloggers have established brands, created extended business lines and products, and created a platform for fashion lovers to have access to unlimited content.
The newest avenue that style and fashion bloggers are taking over is YouTube! Style vloggers are quickly gaining traction and we are seeing more and more of our favorite traditional bloggers creating video content using YouTube or Instagram. I have noticed myself focusing more on video content from my favorite style bloggers. I love being able to “go shopping” with someone whose style I admire, see the clothing and products in a more three dimensional way with movement and detail, and getting to know these girls on a more personal level.
Check out 5 of my favorite style bloggers that you should be following!
Beth Jones, B. Jones Style
How could I have a list of my favorite style vloggers without including our very own Crossroads Style Council member, Beth! Beth is one of the very first bloggers that I fell in love with and have followed since. She’s transformed her brand from a style blog to fashion and lifestyle vlog and films thrift challenges, weekly outfit videos, and style tips.
Check out Beth’s latest thrifting and vintage shopping video:
Kia Marie, TheNotoriousKIA
Kia is one of my newest finds, and I don’t know how I didn’t discover her sooner! She describes her style as “a blend of the grittiness of New York City and the carefreeness of southern California”. She posts impressive thrift hauls, video lookbooks, and “how to style” tutorials.
Check out her latest video of how to thrift Zara inspired fall trends:
Chriselle Lim, Chriselle Lim
Chriselle excels as a working mother in the fashion industry and has built a blogging and vlogging career based on her travels, beauty tips, fashion, and motherhood. Check out Chriselle showcasing her brand new fashion line from Nordstrom:
Amy Serrano, Amy Serrano
Amy’s channel is my go-to for keeping up with the latest trends in fashion and beauty. Her attainable style and beauty tips will make you feel like you’re chatting with your best friend.

May 1st, 2018 by Jennifer Beile Round Up: 5 Blogging Duos to Follow
Before I started my own personal style blog (which is now defunct because life happened—though I’m beginning to feel the itch to start it up again!), I proposed an idea to my best friend: let’s start a blog together! I didn’t want to begin a blogging adventure alone; I wanted some support, and I wanted to do it with someone who understands me and who I could bounce ideas off of. Her passion was concert photography and mine was style. They obviously do not belong on a single blog, so we ended up running completely separate ones.
But there’s something special about a blogging duo who are both on the same page—literally (on the same web page) and figuratively! I love discovering best friends, couples, or family members who run a successful blog together.
Two creative brains are better than one! Take a look at five of my favorite blogging duos below!
Belle & Bunty
Alice and Hannah are the duo behind the Belle and Bunty blog and their namesake designer label. Their colorful aesthetic will make them a permanent addition to your blog roll and brighten up your Instagram feed.
Urban Bush Babes
Cipriana and Nikisha have created an online publication celebrating lifestyle, health, fashion, music, culture, and natural hair. These two best friends constantly step outside the box and each bring their own individual ideas together to create meaningful content.
Jo and Kemp
Jordan and Kemper are a husband and wife duo who blog about fashion and travel. Sometimes they even color-coordinate their outfits in an almost sickeningly sweet way. These two are total #relationshipgoals!
By Nef and Nat
Awarded the Fashion Influencers of the Year award by Marie Claire Magazine in 2015, sisters Nef and Nat built up their style blog TwinFashion, which in turn formed into the lifestyle brand By Nef and Nat, where they each contribute fashion, wellbeing, and beauty content.
A Beautiful Mess
Originating as two individual blogs, A Beautiful Mess is the brainchild of sisters Elsie and Emma. It’s one of the quintessential blogs to follow if you’re into food, décor, crafts, and style. 8 years later, A Beautiful Mess is more than just a blog; they’ve expanded their reach into books, a photo editing app, and a beauty and wellness company.
