Wow, time certainly does fly.  It feels like just yesterday we were opening our first store in Southern California on Melrose Avenue in 1999, and now here we are, celebrating our 20th anniversary at the location where it all began!  To celebrate, we had a DJ spinning 90’s tunes, celebration bubbly, staff dressed in 90’s-inspired attire, and tons of curated pieces for our customers to shop.  Check out our recap photos below to see how we celebrated turning 20 in LA.

September 19th, 2019 by Jennifer Beile These Celebrity Makeup Trends Are Bolder Than Ever

The eyes have it and are the center of the hottest makeup trends this season. This seasons’ trends will inspire you to be daring and playful with your makeup, more than ever, and our favorite stars are one step ahead. From bright pastel rainbow eye shadow to officially bringing back glitter accents, take a look at the celebrity makeup trends that are bolder than ever.

Pastel Eye shadow

Stars like Cara Delevingne and Lucy Boyton have been wearing their art on their eyelids. Bright pastel eye shadow, also known as watercolor eyes, combines vibrant contrasting colors for a rainbow gradient effect, easily customizable for any color palette. This refreshing take on using bright colors going into the fall will brighten up your face, attitude, and overall aesthetic during the dreary weather.

Glitter Accents

Emma Stone and Zazie Beetz have made pulling off glitter eyeliner look easy. Eyeliner is not the only way to partake in the striking trend. Eyeshadow with glitter accents is a bit more of a discrete way to try the trend.

Dramatic Winged Liner

Dramatic winger liner is taking off as seen on Adriama Lima and Ariana Grande. The subtle nod to a retro classic gets a modern update when combined with trends mentioned above or with a unique shape or placement.

It’s boot season and whether or not you are in a climate that has already cooled to breezy fall temperatures or enjoying extended warm summer weather, it’s time to start investing in your boot collection for the turn of the season. While it may be a bit bittersweet to put your strappy sandals and open-toed mules in the back of your closet, making room for new boot staples will kickstart your fall wardrobe turn over and spark your creativity for the new season. Take a look at 5 boot styles to invest in this season to complete your cold weather footwear collection.

Mid, Knee, & Over-the-Knee Boots

Tall boots are a timeless fall staple that can help transition your dresses and skirts from summer to fall or add a chic element to a pair of skinny jeans.

Square-Toe, Chunky Heel Bootie

The newest boot silhouette on this season’s trend list is a modern square toe, chunky heeled ankle bootie which creates a comfortable and stylish way to pull your outfit together.

Pointed-Toe, Kitten Heel Bootie

On the opposite end of the spectrum detailed above, a chic pointed-toe, kitten heel bootie is the cold-weather version of a classic pump. This smart bootie pairs well with any style, from skinny to wide-leg silhouettes.

Lace-Up, Chunky Boot

Think Dr. Martens or combat boots, the lace-up chunky boot may just be the most practical trend this season. The all-weather, all-terrain footwear has received a sophisticated update and it will no longer look like a pair of construction boots, but an edgy addition to your fall look.

September 16th, 2019 by Samantha Furno Could Leather be the Textile of the Season?

When it comes to seasonal textiles, leather is sure to come to mind for the fall season. Let’s be honest; could it get more classic than a moto jacket?! Although this textile itself may not be entirely groundbreaking, what is groundbreaking is the many ways in which we are seeing leather worn this fall season! Leather jackets will always be a cooler weather staple and a quick way to step up the chic-factor of any outfit, but this F/W19 is all about incorporating other, unique, silhouettes into your wardrobe! Whether you like to keep it faux or prefer the real thing, here are a few ways to to try the trend out yourself and instantly elevate your style game, one leather piece at a time!

Not-so-Basic Button Down

Leather is a great way to add structure to your fits, so why not swap out your go-to, tailored button down for something a bit bolder in style!

September 10th, 2019 by Jennifer Beile 7 Street Style Trends to Adopt From NYFW

Due to the power and influence of social media, street style has become the upmost authority on fashion trends. New York Fashion Week is the epitome of influencers, models, and industry insiders showcasing their personal style, and in some ways, has become more affluent than the runways themselves. I personally look forward to the street style photos more than the designer collections during fashion week. It may be because seeing trends in action, on real people, and styled in a more approachable everyday way helps me to visualize how I might wear it, whereas the runway is more of a fantasy. See all the best street style trends to adopt that have come out of NYFW Spring 2020.

Feminine Details

Lace, ruffles and other feminine details are being seen as accents across all a range of styles.

Relaxed Silhouettes

Comfort over form-fitting was the choice on the streets of New York during this past fashion week and I’ve got to say that I am all for it!
