Blog: Crossroads Style

April 1st, 2019 by Samantha Furno Designer Handbags that Won’t Break the Bank

If you’ve been scrolling through the gram lately, you’ve probably noticed a resurgence of classic designer handbags featured in #ootds (outfit of the day)! Monogrammed styles and smaller silhouettes that we saw drift away in the early 2000’s are back and are trendier than ever! In fact, some of these cult-classic handbags are so sought-after lately that designers themselves have been bringing some of their most-iconic styles back in rotation (for example, Dior’s chic saddle bag). Designer handbags are definitely an investment piece and purchasing one from a current season, direct from designer, will easily cost you a pretty penny. Luckily for us, vintage is in right now and it’s just as chic to own a bag from a past season as it is to own something more modern.
If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a designer gem, I highly recommend checking out the designer handbag selection at your local Crossroads! People are constantly cleaning out their wardrobes and are selling or trading previously loved and gently used styles that could easily rival that new designer piece you’ve been lusting after! Plus, shopping designer at Crossroads means you’ll be scoring a timeless piece at a fraction of the price! Crossroads always has a wonderful selection of designer handbags that are either kept behind the register or in a glass case. From Ferragamo to Louis Vuitton, there are plenty of amazingly priced handbags that are the perfect option for elevating your wardrobe and for adding a luxe flair to any outfit!
With the demand for designer goods at an all-time high this season, be sure to keep an eye out for timeless gems amidst the more current styles next time you head to Crossroads! Most designer styles that are in store are quickly posted the gram as well, so be sure to turn on post notifications for @CrossroadsTrading on Instagram, that way you never miss out on an amazing #Crossroadsfind! Here are some of the gorgeous handbags that I’ve seen on the Crossroads Instagram lately that will instantly take your style game to the next level!

March 26th, 2019 by Jennifer Beile 10 Male Fashion Influencers You Should Be Following on Instagram

Fashion has always heavily favored women’s style. It’s no wonder why; the colors, silhouettes, styles, and options that women have available to wear make it exciting and curious. But we are entering into an age where fashion is beginning to blur the lines between sexes and male fashion is becoming more daring and unique in itself. I’ve recently begun taking more and more inspiration from men’s style than ever before, from little details to complete copycat outfits, and I think woman have always done this, whether subconsciously or knowingly, for years (blazers and boyfriend jeans, anyone?!).
Take a look at 10 of my favorite male fashion influencers on Instagram and add them to your feed for a refreshing dose of daily inspiration.

Phil Cohen isn’t a traditional influencer, he doesn’t appear in a single one of his Instagram posts. In fact, no one does. He takes the people out of fashion and lets the clothes be the center of attention and curates a feed of flat lays.

March 25th, 2019 by Samantha Furno Spring Trend Alert: Tie-Dye Is Officially Back

Springtime always brings about brighter and cheery hues in the fashion world, but how do you feel about adding some groovy tie-dye to your wardrobe line-up this season? It is no secret that tie-dye is a major trend right now! We’ve been seeing a revival of this 70’s pattern on and off the runways, proving that tie dye is no longer a blast from the past. Tie-dye in 2019 is definitely more elevated; think sophisticated fabrics, modern silhouettes and chic color combos! Bold colors and carefree patterns make tie dye the perfect way to switch up those spring pastels in your wardrobe. Whether you opt to incorporate this trend in an accessory or even an entire frock, there is no denying that tie dye will add a hint of childhood nostalgia to your outfits.

The beautiful thing about this trend is that it is totally obtainable. We are seeing tie-dye in spring and summer lookbooks across the board, making it a simple pattern to shop around for, but you can also head to your local craft store, purchase some dye and rubber bands and try your hand at creating your own tie dyed styles as well. I’ve rounded up some awesome ways we have seen the tie-dye trend styled for spring that will make you want to try this psychedelic trend for yourself!

Elevated but Fun

High-end designers can’t get enough of the tie-dye trend this spring either! This gorgeous Proenza Schouler turtleneck is not for the faint of heart, but it is definitely enough to make any fashionista swoon!

Move Over Spring Florals

Tie-Dye is the perfect pattern to wear in place of spring’s typical patterns! Just look at how feminine and fun this dreamy pastel-hued dress is!

As Classic as this Trend Gets!

A simple swirled pattern tee is really all you need to embrace one of 2019’s hottest trends!

The Perfect Combo

The 90’s are alive and well in this fashion-forward utility jumpsuit! The acid wash tie-dyed pattern makes this fashion forward look a definite head turner!

March 18th, 2019 by Samantha Furno Transitional Styling 101: Winter to Spring

After those long and polarizing winter months we’ve just experienced, I couldn’t be more excited that sunny days are up ahead! Mark your calendars because next week, March 20th to be exact, marks the first day of spring!
Spring sure is beautiful with its fresh blooms and bright skies; however the weather is still quite unpredictable at times, making it a bit difficult to whip out those sundresses and tank tops just yet. That’s why I’ve come up with a simple list of wardrobe essentials that will help make the transition between the seasons both an easy and stylish one for your wardrobe!

Knee-High Boots

Those knee-high boots that you wore all winter long with skinny jeans are perfect for throwing on with a short and flirty dress this spring season. They will instantly elevate any outfit you pair them with, not to mention they are an innovative way to keep your legs warm too!

The Classic Blazer

Blazers are great for adding a hint of sophistication to your outfits, plus they are typically pretty lightweight making them ideal for springtime layering. I am just loving how Celeste paired her Crossroads blazer over a feminine maxi dress for the perfect transitional look! Talk about a #Crossroadsfind!

Wide-Leg Denim

70’s inspired and totally chic, wide leg denim is a transitional staple you can count on for year-round wear. These jeans are great for throwing on with a simple tee and heels for a spring outing with friends!

Cozy Sweaters

Don’t put away your cozy winter sweaters just yet! Switch things up and try wearing your favorite sweater with a lightweight and an a-line spring skirt for a chic and romantic flair! Just add a pair of cute heels and fun jewelry and you’ll be set!

March 13th, 2019 by Melanie Sutrathada 6 Style Tips for Office Outfits

There’s no better way to make a statement in the workplace than by wearing an outfit that does all the talking. I’m a firm believer that when you dress confidently in the workplace, it shows. Scroll on for fashion inspiration for what to wear to work. We rounded up six different outfits that you can try styling for work immediately.

Incorporate Accessories

If it’s not warm enough to wear your favorite blouse and pencil skirt combination quite yet, try layering up and wearing a pair of tights underneath! A structured tote bag is also always a must-have for carrying all of your knick-knack items to and from the office!

Oversize Your Coat

As far as fashion girls are concerned, there’s nothing better than an over-sized plaid coat and wide leg dress pants. Elevate this outfit with a pair of block heels that are appropriate for work.

“Dress” for Success

Let’s face it – dresses are always a great outfit choice in the workplace. They’re simple, clean and minimalistic!

Add a Statement Coat

We’re loving the way Kate Ogata – of the fashion blog, The Fancy Pants Report – styled this statement coat over a monochrome outfit.

Try New Pant Cuts

Ditch the typical “office slacks” and opt for colored paperbag pants instead!

Complete Look With a Blazer

The easiest way to transition from your 8-5 job to Happy Hour plans? Wear a dress and style a blazer over it – it’s the perfect blend of modest and cute.
