October 8th, 2019 by Jennifer Beile 4 Fall Outfit Formulas to Fall Back On

Fall is the season of finicky, transitional weather and sometimes it’s a little tricky to get dressed in the morning. I have always been a proponent of having a back-up plan when it comes to getting dressed in the morning just in case my mind blanks in front of my closet. Something other than my usual cool weather uniform of jeans, chunky knit and booties. Below are four simple full-proof fall outfit formulas to keep in the back of your mind while getting dressed.

Belted Cardigan, Maxi Dress & Boots

Bring your maxi dress into the cold-weather season by layering it with a long cardigan and adding a belt and knee-high booties. A mix of comfy & chic, this is the perfect autumnal work to date night outfit.

Sweater, Midi Skirt & Sneakers

Get more use out of your favorite midi skirt in the fall by topping it with an oversize chunky knit and knee-high boots. Bring this look into winter by adding tights, an oversize long length coat, and switching to knee-high boots.

Classic Denim on Denim with Booties

Denim on denim is a classic pairing and perfect for the mild weather that fall brings us. Keep it interesting with shades of denim broken up by a belt and if the weather permits, add another layer of a different fabrication, a teddy coat or a suede jacket.

Jumpsuit & Booties

Fall’s answer to a dress! A good jumpsuit is a favorite year-round but somehow they are simply perfect in the mild autumn breeze. An extra layer under will take your jumpsuits further into the colder seasons.
