August 13, 2026 5 Trends Taking Over Fall

The first hints of fall bring that familiar urge to rethink your closet. Maybe it’s the return of jackets, the promise of boots, or simply the chance to layer again. Whatever the reason, we’re ready. This season’s fall trends offer plenty to look for on the racks of our stores, from familiar favorites making another round to statement pieces ready to change up your everyday uniform.

1. Funnel-Neck Jackets

Consider this the jacket silhouette to know right now. Funnel-neck styles zip or button high at the collar, giving classic outerwear a fresh shape. Look for cropped versions, sporty nylon styles, and heavier wool options. Wear one zipped all the way up with relaxed jeans, or leave the collar open over a favorite tee.

2. Chocolate Brown

Brown has been building momentum, and this fall it’s everywhere. Deep chocolate shades feel especially right on leather jackets, suede bags, boots, trousers, and knits. We love it mixed with black, denim, cream, or even another shade of brown. Bonus points when you find a great vintage leather piece in exactly the right worn-in shade.

3. Plaid

Plaid for fall isn’t exactly breaking news, but this season we’re watching it move beyond the usual flannel shirt. Think plaid midi skirts, trousers, fitted jackets, long coats, and accessories. Try pairing one plaid piece with something unexpected, like a graphic tee, track jacket, or chunky shoe.

4. Slouchy Boots

After seasons of sleek boots, roomier shapes are back in the conversation. Slouchy knee-high and mid-calf boots add just enough drama to an outfit without requiring much styling. Wear them with a mini skirt and oversized sweater, or tuck a pant and give them all the focus.

5. Faux Fur

A little glamour is making its way into everyday dressing. Faux fur coats, fuzzy collars, and plush-trimmed jackets are the kind of pieces that can make even jeans and a tee feel ready for somewhere fun. We’re especially watching for cropped jackets and long vintage-inspired coats.

The best part about fall trends is that you don’t need a whole new wardrobe to try them. Start with the racks, follow what catches your eye, and see what fits into the closet you already have.
