Blog: Crossroads Style

June 5th, 2019 by Mauricio Gomez The “Do’s” of Selling by Mail with Crossroads

As a seller, you may wonder would Crossroads buy this? when filling up a Sell by Mail bag or cleaning out your closet. I’m here to give you an insider’s look into some of the brands, fabrics, and styles our Sell by Mail buyers love to buy!

Brand

As a basic rule, we shy away from fast fashion brands because they were so affordable as new and don’t hold a high resale value. Instead, here are some brands that our customers can’t get enough of:

Madewell hanging on a rack for selling.

Madewell’s styles are always trendy, fun and elevated.

Patagonia hanging on racks.

Patagonia makes highly desirable outerwear that suits our customers need for functionality and comfort.

Vans is an iconic brands whose shoes and apparel are constantly sought after by our customers.

Everyone wants a great Everlane piece. They use quality fabrics to create styles that are minimal and timeless.

Style

Our customers trust us to have the latest and greatest merchandise. They want to see the newest trends in our stores the second they hit the runway or Instagram. Our customers are very trendy, just like our sellers.

Different types of denim and leather jacket hanging for selling.

Style is always changing, but one thing that is consistent is a love for denim and leather. A statement jacket and dark denim are styles you can always send to Crossroads because they never get old.

Fabric

Here at Crossroads we can’t get enough of natural fibers like cotton, silk, cashmere, leather and wool. What your clothes are made of can turn your piece from a “maybe” into a “we need this.” Let’s check those fabric labels!

Silks are elegant, sophisticated and highly desirable. Before sending in a silk piece, make sure to inspect for pulls and stains.

denim jacket and leather bag as ideal items for selling.

It’s hard to say no to a structured leather bag, and it’s even harder to turn down a leather jacket. Again, make sure to check for any visible wear.

Condition

Condition could make or break an item we are looking to purchase. When inspecting an item, we ask ourselves: is this an item the customer could wear out of the store? We look for stains, tears, loose threads, missing buttons and broken zippers. The closer to new it looks, the more likely it is to be purchased.

A combination of fabric types that are good for selling by mail.

We don’t just purchase used clothes, we purchase new as well. If it’s new with tags, a current style and never been worn, there’s a great chance we’ll want it.

There you have it!  These are the DO’s: DO send us your cool one of a kind piece. DO send us trendy and classic styles. DO send us brands we love. DO send us great fabrics we’d be fools to turn down. And DO send us items in great condition. DO order a Sell by Mail bag on our website, today.
