August 22, 2024 Where to Sell Clothes This Fall

The question of where to sell clothes might be on your mind as you start your fall shopping. With new trends and cozy pieces being added to your wardrobe, how do you clear your closet of used clothing you no longer love?

We like to start by sorting clothes into two piles: one for donation and one for selling. Clothes that have potential to earn you cash or trade are 1). on current trend, 2). from a popular label, and 3). gently used. Put the sellable items aside.

Crossroads has two selling options for you at this point!

First, you can visit any Crossroads store location and have a buyer assess your clothing on the spot. No appointment is needed; you just stop into the store and add your name to the waitlist.

For the items the buyer decides to purchase, you will earn 30% cash or 50% trade of what they price the item for. You can decide on your payout right away, or ask them to keep the amounts in your personal digital account for another visit.

Second, you can sell your clothing from home with the Crossroads Sell by Mail service. Order a bag online, fill it up, and send it off with its pre-paid postage. You won’t receive your payout as quickly, but it’s so convenient.

So, where to sell clothes this season? We hope you choose us!

August 8, 2024 Vintage Designer Scores

The term “vintage designer” can mean different things to different shoppers. Some see the term vintage as meaning decades old, while others see it as a past season piece or a former brand classic.

In our stores, we love to buy in all these types of items. Whether a designer vintage rarity or a favorite style from past seasons, you can find an assortment on our shelves. (TIP: you’ll find them behind the register area in the cubbies and on the walls).

If you are a big fan of secondhand designer fashion and want to keep tabs on what’s coming in to your local store, we recommend following your store’s regional Instagram feed. Not only will you get first peeks of what’s on the sales floor, but you’ll get details about special events too.

Take a look at some of the recent items we found on these regional Instagram feeds:

July 24,2024 Get Cash for Clothing This Fall

Don’t forget you can get cash for clothing at Crossroads stores, and just in time for fall!

With the new season comes back-to-school planning and the desire for a closet refresh. We can help you with both, and with 3 options to consider.

1. Get Cash for Clothing on the Spot

You can bring in all your clothes to one of our stores and try to sell them all at once. It’s much more convenient than selling your pieces individually on an app or website. No building listings and boxing up pieces for the post office.

In fact, our stores buy all day every day and don’t require an appointment. You can even use the Crossroads waitlist app to add your name to the selling waitlist before leaving home!

Once your signed up and in-store, just wait to be called. Our trained buyers take care of the rest.

Bonus: you can collect your cash before you leave the store.

#2 “Trade” for Store Credit

When you sell with us, you also get the option to take your payout as trade. Trade is store credit that can be used at any Crossroads location, and it’s the perfect way to refresh your closet with new finds. With trade, you also earn 50% of what your clothes are priced for, versus 30% for cash.

Many sellers love to use trade as a way to refresh their closets each season.

#3 Short on Time? Try Sell by Mail

Want cash for clothing but don’t live near a Crossroads, or feeling short on time? There’s our Sell by Mail program too! Here’s how it works: order a bag online, fill it up with the gently used items you want to sell, and send it off. It comes with a pre-paid postage label, and you can choose to have unpurchased items donated or returned to you.

Crossroads makes it so easy to sell your pre-loved clothes quickly.

July 17, 2024 Seasonal Switch: High Rise Trousers

You don’t need to keep your high rise trousers in the back of your closet just waiting for fall. Here’s a little secret: these versatile pants work for summer too!

We personally like to wear them with go-to summer classics like polo shirts, cropped tees, sailor shirts, and tank tops.  Fitted pieces like these look amazing with the loose and often wide-leg silhouette of high rise trousers.

They also give you plenty of shoe options to choose from, like sneakers, loafers, sandals, and heels.

We recently searched our Instagram feeds for some fabulous examples, and inspiration was delivered. Keep scrolling to take a look at some of the outfits we pinned to our styling boards.

Seasonal trends and styles are slowly changing as we move into fall, but you can always count on our selling guide to keep you informed of the pieces we’re currently buying and selling in our stores.

With fall approaching, now’s the time to assess your closet for the upcoming season and decide if there’s anything you can bring into Crossroads for cash or store credit. Stop in to sell and use your earnings to get your closet refreshed and fall-ready.
