November 6, 2023 Stay Warm & Stylish in a Puffer Vest

A super easy, fail-proof way to add warmth to your fall and winter looks is by adding a puffer vest.

It’s a piece ready for that moment when a full jacket or coat is too much, or when you don’t want to cover up the great look you styled (We’ve been there).

Try them over blazers, sweatshirts, turtlenecks, and even cropped pieces.

Need inspiration? Here are some looks we found on Instagram that show you several different ways to layer them.

Over a Blazer

Yes, you read that right. Puffer vests can look fabulous with your work attire.

With Cropped Tops

Try one with a cropped top–or even–a cropped vest with a cropped top.

Over Sweatshirts

You thought sweatshirts were warm and cozy. Now try one with a puffer vest layered on top. Next level!

With Cable Knit Sweaters

Like we mentioned, a vest can ensure that the pretty details of your other pieces shine through. A great example of this is a cable-knit sweater.

A puffer vest is only one of the trends we’re looking for this season. See our current selling guide for even more. You can shop or sell them in any of our store locations right now.

October 31, 2023 Picks of the Week from Our Stores

We have some fresh picks of the week to share, and they come straight from our sales floor. All of them were found on our regional Instagram feeds (Did you know we had those?). These regional feeds allow you to see the latest and greatest pieces coming in to your local stores daily. Many of those feeds are linked below.

Go West

Western revival has been trending this fall, but we always like to push the envelope on a trend. These pink fringed boots would do the trick!

Ballet with a Twist

Same goes for the ballet-inspired look that’s trending. The curved toes on this Maison Margiela pair are unique and stunning.

Get Academic

Preppy is a classic look that really gets attention in fall and winter. We like how this store styled the check blazer with a silk shirt in a rich floral print.

Designer, but Make it Sporty

This designer wallet-on-chain with a sporty motif and gold hardware is perfect for everyday wear.

And these designer platform trainers are everything.

Stay Warm

We feel warmer just looking at these cozy The North Face pieces. They’ll make someone very happy this winter season.

These picks of the week represent only a small batch of fashion items you can find on our regional Instagram feeds. Check them (and our main feed!) for even more great finds.

October 26, 2023 The Flannel Fashion Trend

The flannel fashion trend has a curious way of turning up time and time again.

Maybe it’s the way it easily evokes fall and winter vibes, or maybe it’s the way it’s so easy to wear.

This year sees flannel fashion going strong again. We even featured it in our most recent selling guide.

We all know that flannel pairs perfectly with denim, but here are a few ways to style it that maybe you haven’t tried before.

With Maxi Skirts

A flannel will always be your go-to with pants and boots, but see if you can style it with your favorite maxi skirts this season.

As a Mini

Flannel shirts look great oversized and can even be belted to create a mini dress.

Wear with This Season’s Cargo Pants

Cargo pants are everywhere this season, and flannel shirts make a great pairing.

Try a Flannel Jacket or Coat

There is more than the classic flannel shirt. We’re seeing a lot of structured flannel jackets and coats in stores this year.

The flannel fashion trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so stop into any of our stores to sell or shop your flannel pieces.

October 24, 2023 How to Sell Secondhand Clothes for Cash or Trade

You likely want to sell secondhand clothes if you’re in the habit of buying them.

Why? Because at fashion resale stores like Crossroads Trading, selling your pre-loved clothes allows you to earn cash or store credit that you can use for new-to-you items.

How to Sell Secondhand Clothes at Crossroads

So, how does it work?

Crossroads is always looking for current, gently-used clothing and accessories in excellent condition. Think of the pieces in your closet that you bought and just never wear. Maybe they never fit quite right or don’t match your current personal style. That’s okay – let’s find them a new home!

Bring these pieces into a Crossroads store location and sign in to our selling waitlist (bonus: no appointment is required!). A highly-trained fashion buyer will look at each piece and decide what they can buy from you that day.

Once they select their picks, they price the item for the sales floor. You earn a payout of cash or store credit based on a percentage of that amount!

Use that cash or store credit to replenish your closet with new pieces you love. Check out our brand’s Instagram feed to get some ideas of what you’ll find in our stores.
