June 13, 2023 Summer Calls for Relaxed Denim
You know we love denim for every season, but relaxed denim is probably our favorite pick for summer.
The term relaxed refers to the fit, which leans loose but isn’t baggy. It’s usually found in lighter shades and is ideally very soft. Paired with a tank or tee and sandals, these jeans create an easy summer outfit that you’ll find yourself turning to time and time again.
We also love relaxed denim paired with lightweight linen button-ups and tropical print shirts. That’s likely why you’ll find them all on the racks of our stores this season, along with other seasonal trends we love.
Keep scrolling to see some of our favorite looks. Don’t forget to look for this popular denim fit in shorts too!
Itching to find a pair of your own? Stop into any of our store locations to see what we have on the racks. We have a feeling you might walk away with your new favorite summer piece. While you’re at it, bring in your seasonal pre-loved fashion pieces to sell for cash or store credit.

June 6, 2023 Sustainable Fashion Merchandising Jobs
Sustainable fashion merchandising jobs are finally getting their moment in the sun as Gen Z fully embraces the climate benefits of secondhand fashion.
On top of reducing textile waste in landfill, shopping secondhand has allowed fashion enthusiasts the ability to mix modern and vintage pieces and make their style unique to them. It turns shopping into a treasure hunt.
So then what’s better than a sustainable fashion career, where you can help curate and merchandise a resale fashion store like Crossroads Trading with the best secondhand fashion pieces out there?
In the case of working at Crossroads, our employees also receive a significant employee discount on already excellent-priced pieces (usually about one-third of the original retail price!). Add in the perk of working closely with others passionate about fashion, and you may be starting to think that sustainable fashion merchandising jobs are exactly the type of career you’re looking to start right now.
If that’s the case, start here on our Careers page to learn more about our benefits and see the most recent job openings. You’ll find we have multiple stores and job openings across the U.S.
Our fingers are crossed that we hear from you very soon!
June 1, 2023 How to Sell Unwanted Clothes on the Spot
If you’re wondering how to sell unwanted clothes you just cleaned out of your closet, you’ve come to the right place.
Some people may direct you to websites like eBay, or one of the numerous selling apps, but the fact is you probably want those clothes off your hands right away. And we’re in agreement if you think creating an online listing for every piece of clothing (with photos, measurements, and descriptions) sounds like too much work.
Enter Crossroads, where any day of the week you can walk into one of our stores and sell your clothes on the spot. No appointment is necessary, and you can even use our waitlist app to add your name to our selling list before you leave home.
Trained in-store buyers assess each piece of clothing and select what to buy from you. You’ll earn 50% store credit or 30% cash of what they price the item for.
To have the best luck at selling, check out the seasonal selling guide ahead of time to learn what stores are currently looking for. Then, remove any damaged or stained items from your unwanted clothing assortment so buyers can focus on your best pieces.
Our stores are ready to assist you with those pre-loved fashion pieces that no longer fit your style. Find your closest Crossroads store to get started. Don’t live near a store? Try our Sell by Mail program instead.

June 8, 2023 When You Should Mail In Consignment Clothes
When you’re fresh off a closet cleanout, you want the unwanted fashion pieces off your hands fast. If you usually set up an appointment at your local consignment store, hear us out on why we think you should sometimes mail in consignment clothes to a Sell by Mail service instead.
There are 2 major reasons:
1. Mail-in Consignment Clothes are No Longer Consignment Clothes
“Consignment” means you leave an item with a consignment store and hope it sells. You don’t receive payment for the piece until it sells in the store (if it even does). While this can be a great choice for higher-priced designer pieces, it’s not ideal for the rest of your clothing.
Here’s why: with a Sell by Mail service like the one from Crossroads, their buyers assess your pieces and buy outright the items they think they can sell. You get paid right away, whether the piece sells in the store or not. They take on all the risk, and you have money in your hands.
2. You Can Sell From Home
No time to haul your pre-loved clothes over to a consignment store? With our service, you order a selling bag from our website, fill it up, and use the prepaid postage label on it to send it off. Look how easy the process is!
Ready to give it a try with that pile of unwanted clothing you’ve been staring at for weeks? Order your free bag and get started.
