January 30, 2024 Micro Mini Skirts Mean Spring

Micro mini skirts made major waves in the late 1960s, and they’ve remained a staple in the trend cycle ever since. They’ve seen a resurgence in the last two years, and we still expect them to see them this upcoming season.

Likely because our stores are starting to rotate their clothing styles into spring, we’ve had these adorable skirts on our minds lately. The plan: if we get our hands on them now, we’ll have them ready to kick off those first warm days of spring. Outfit ideas abound!

You can wear these minis with everything from frilly blouses to baby tees to sweatshirts. You can even play off their 60s vibe with a turtleneck and pendant necklace.

When selecting shoes, we like to pick a chunky platform, heeled boots, or loafers. Tights are our secret to wearing them well before spring is officially in the air.

Keep scrolling to see some of the looks that inspire us to keep adding micro mini skirts to our wardrobe.

January 25, 2024 5 Fun Thrift Fashion Pieces

We like to think we’re experts on the thrift fashion pieces that get shoppers excited.

Our fashion buyers buy men’s and women’s clothing and accessories from the public all day, every day. This takes place in our stores across the U.S. and in our Sell by Mail center.

These buyers take the time to learn exactly what you love to shop.

The result is store racks filled with your favorite trends, labels, and styles. We make turning that store credit you earned by selling clothes into a fun shopping experience and a refreshed wardrobe.

It’s easy to stay in-the-know. You can follow us on Instagram to see the latest pieces reaching our sales floors, including regional Instagram feeds that peek into your local stores.

Below are just some of the thrift fashion pieces that our stores have now. Any of these accessories would elevate your style this season. Take a look!

January 18, 2024 What’s an Apron Dress?

An apron dress is one of the most versatile pieces you’ll ever own.

If you haven’t heard of one before, an apron dress is typically a wrap-around dress with a tie-waist at front. It’s very similar to a kitchen apron and most popular in lightweight fabrics like linen.

You can wear one over anything from a turtleneck to a boatneck tee. Wear it as a simple dress, or layer one over jeans. We know you’ll find your favorite pairing.

More than anything, we absolutely adore clothing with pockets, and you can almost always count on an apron dress to include them. In addition, the wrap-around style allows you to size the dress to your personal liking. This is great when you want to layer in thicker sweaters in winter.

Look for an apron dress–or any of your favorite dress styles–at a Crossroads store location. Make sure to add one to your closet before spring!

You can even bring in pre-loved clothing to sell so you can pick one up with store credit.

January 16, 2024 The Best Way to Sell Used Clothes

The best way to sell used clothes is in a fashion resale store like Crossroads. We know we’re partial to saying that, but let us tell you why.

For most people, selling their clothes begins like this: staring at a pile of unwanted clothes from a closet clean-out or move.

Sure, you could use Ebay or one of the peer-to-peer selling apps to list and sell each piece individually, but most people just want this pile of clothing to disappear.

That’s where a fashion resale store comes in. You can bring all of those clothes (except for stained and damaged pieces) up to their selling counter and have a store buyer assess each piece for cash or trade credit.

You’ll get more of those pre-loved clothes out of your hair right away, and walk away with cash that day.

That’s why we think fashion resale stores are the best way to sell used clothes. Check to see if there is a Crossroads location near you, or check out our Sell by Mail program.

January 11, 2024 Inspired by 90s Purses

90s purses have passed through the hands of many of us here at Crossroads, either during the actual decade or as a fun vintage find.

Many handbag designers continue to re-create the most popular designs, making it easy to replicate 90s style with new pieces.

Here are a few of our favorite styles of 90s purses. We couldn’t narrow it down to just one (or even three).

Baguette

It’s the bag that only fits your flip phone, your lip gloss, and your wallet. But that’s OK because its so darn light and sleek.

Drawstring Bucket Bag

This one is perfect for carrying around all your 90s secrets.

Logo Bag

The logo bag is brazen, and that’s exactly what it’s going for.

Classic Shoulder Bag

We like this one best in a pebbled leather. Extra credit points for an adjustable strap that gives you multiple options.

Suede Handbag

When the 90s made a nod to the 70s.

Jelly Bag

A jelly bag is never practical, but it’s always cute. Bubble gum pink is our favorite choice.

Backpack Style

The bag that will take you from morning to night, because you have big, big plans for the day.

If you have pre-loved handbags in similar styles, bring them into Crossroads stores any day, any time to sell. No appointment is necessary, and you can view our current selling guide to see other styles and trends we’re looking for now.
